The Lagos State Government has sealed the zonal headquarters, Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG in Ajegunle, Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government, a hotel in Ikeja and six other structures, for allegedly breaking government seal and developing the structures illegally in the state.
No fewer than 11 artisans found within the sealed building premises when officials of Lagos State Building Control Agency, LASBCA, visited were arrested, arraigned before an Ebute Meta Mobile Court, weekend, and sentenced to different jail terms. Adeboye Vanguard learned that the developer of the three-storey RCCG building, which was under construction on Old Ojo Road in Ajegunle axis, was alleged to have broken government’s seal on several occasion after LASBCA served stop work notice and sealed the structure.
At the site, seven workers found working were arrested while about four other buildings on Old Ojo Road were sealed for same offence and workers found there arrested.
One of the six others sealed was a shopping centre in Ajeromi, which the developer was about erecting the third floor. At the centre, two persons were arrested after it was observed that the structure had been sealed on different occasions but the owner had allegedly unsealed it.
Also, a shopping plaza, which was said to be erected illegally, at Boundary Bus stop, Ajegunle, was not spared by the officials while a three-storey building and adjoining one by the same developer in the same compound was sealed at Chidi Street, Awodi-Ora in Ajegunle.
