A man’s rectum fell out of his body and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
According to reports, the young man told doctors he had been on the phone while trying to poo for over one hour thirty minutes. When people had gone to check for him, a massive lump measuring 16cm long was found sticking out of his anus.
He immediately went into surgery and had a gastrointestinal surgery at The Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in Zhongshan, southeast China, last Sunday, to successfully remove it.
Dr Su Dan speaking with local media said the man was diagnosed with rectal prolapse, which occurs when the last part of the intestines loses its attachment within the body and becomes visible outside the body.
She however noted that the patient’s situation was a lot more severe than usual.
She said: “The patient had rectal prolapse since he was four years old, the bulge was able to retract. But he did not treat the condition and the situation has got worse.”
