A young Saudi Arabian boy who was sexually assaulted and reported to his father got even more assault.
According to reports, his father used a hot iron on his son’s private part as punishment for getting assaulted. He the father, however later sought out Saudi psychologist for help.
Dr. Hussain Al Shamarani, who shared the story online said when the father approached him and told him what he had done, he genuinely believed he had done the right thing.
Dr, Hussain said he believed the father put a hot iron on his son’s genitals after the boy reported that a group of teenagers sexually abused him.
“This man came to ask for my advice, not knowing that his action had already done more damage to the child’s health and mental well-being,” Dr. Hussain said.
“There are so many similar cases, where parents resort to punishing a child after an assault or simply choose not to come forward to get them the help they truly need in the wake of such incidents.”
Twitter users condemned the act with one Twitter user writing: “Ignorance is catastrophic. This father knows he won’t be punished for his actions. This is why similar incidents will always recur.”
