A 42-year old man has welcomed a child with his 20-year old daughter.
Reports have it that the man’s ex-wife, discovered this when she found out her long-lost daughter was pregnant for her dad after reading about it in one of her other children’s journals.
The man Steven Pladl, left his wife for his 20-year-old daughter Katie Pladl. Steven also told his other kids to start to refer to Katie, who is the eldest as their “step-mom”, court documents say.
The couple are now facing criminal charges after police came in the know.
Katie, was given up for adoption at birth in 1998 and upon turning 18, she tracked down her biological parents via social media. She later visited them in Richmond, West Virginia, in August 2016 where she met the Pladl’s and her two younger siblings.
Months after the meeting, her mum moved out of the family home with her two children. Steven reportedly told his wife later, that he planned to get married to his daughter.
Court documents show that Katie’s mum told police Steven had begun “sleeping on Katie’s floor”, and in May 2017, she read in one of her other children’s journals that Katie was pregnant and Steven was the father.
Katie posted Instagram photos of herself heavily pregnant and kissing her dad by a lake in July 2017, with a caption that suggested it was their “wedding day”.
She wrote: “Nothing fancy, just love #justmarried #simplewedding #pregnancy.”
Police was informed of the relationship in November last year and warrants for their arrest were issued. They were picked up last week alongside their son.
