A teenage girl who accidentally sent a Snapchat to her on-off boyfriend revealing she’d slept with someone else was later found hanged, an inquest heard.
Charlotte Guy, 17, had intended the message to go to a friend, but she mistakenly sent it to 20-year-old Jack Hurst, who was away at university.
After realising what she had done, she apologised and told Jack it “wasn’t for” him before sending him the message: “Goodbye. Please forgive me”.
According to Daily Mirror,she then sent a final message, saying:
“I love you, knowing that you hate me is enough,” the hearing in Bolton, Greater Manchester, was told.
A “concerned” Jack called police after reading the messages last September, and used Charlotte’s Snapchat account to pinpoint her location.
However, the young woman was found hanged from a tree near St John Rigby College in Wigan, where she had been studying healthcare.
Toxicology reports showed Charlotte, of Orrell, Wigan, had taken cocaine while under the influence of alcohol.
The student, who also worked poolside at a Total Fitness gym, had been dating Jack for two years, the hearing was told.
