A Michigan man repeatedly stabbed the mother of his 13-year-old child with a 3-foot sword, telling his son that God made him do it, authorities said.
The 35-year-old woman underwent surgery and is in serious condition following the early morning attack Friday in Battle Creek.
The suspect fled, but the teen son identified him to cops. He was spotted later Friday by deputies near Kalamazoo and was taken into custody without incident.
Investigators found the sword at the scene, and blood was found all over the apartment, according to the Battle Creek Enquirer.
The child tried to stop his father, and may have stabbed him with a steak knife, the newspaper reported.Blood was found on the man’s clothes. Cops say he told his son that God told him to attack his mother, according to the Enquirer.
