Musician and Whitenicious ceo Dencia has weighed in on the Libya slave trade saga which was recently unearthed by CNN. According to her, the real outrage shouldn’t be aimed at Libyans but the Africans who sold their fellow countrymen to the Libyans. She wrote
People like to say that the conflict is between good and evil. The real conflict is between truth and lies. As I type, men and women are being sold and raped in Libya and other parts of Africa as they try to migrate to a first world country for greener pastures. Here’s how most Africans in 1st world countries contributed to this current situation.
1. The constant lies and glamorization of life being easy in 1st world countries,no one (except me) speaks the truth or tells people back home how hard things are for real.Life isn’t easy in first world countries, there’s pros and cons but it’s not worth you dying in the sea or getting sold or raped, it’s not.
2. You tell this people the truth about first world countries struggle and they don’t believe you, they look at u and say well you made it,I did but I’ll not risk my life and sell all I have and walk on foot & all just to get here.Getting to Libya isn’t free so why spend all that money just to die?Why not use it and start a legit business that can put u in a position to get u a visa to any country as a business owner ?🤔
As I type this, men and women are seeing what is happening & packing their bags and selling all the have to make this trip with hopes of being the lucky ones,we’ll blame our governments and all for this but America has 350m people and only 22m people are employed by The government.
African youths don’t understand the meaning of starting small everyone wants to do it big and that’s how a lot of people end up in Libya, the Media and all the attention this gets won’t stop until our brothers and sisters try to make it back home,it’s hard AF but it’s harder outside your home
.The AU wants to do something that’s great but right under our nostrils in Africa parents are basically selling their 6-10yrs old sons and daughters to become maids, these young girls keep getting raped, abused, scared for life, who is looking into that?
The real outrage shouldn’t be on the Libyans because from Nigeria or Cameroon or Senegal, who sold them to Libya ?The source is the connect who took their money from back home knowing others have died but still let ur brother go & die,the outrage should be on the original source. My 💭s
