The two Brooklyn cops charged with raping a teenaged prisoner inside their police vehicle quit the force Monday, the NYPD said.

Officers Eddie Martins and Richard Hall would have almost certainly been fired had they stuck around for their departmental trial, which was scheduled to begin Thursday.

They still face rape and kidnapping charges following their indictment last month,NY Daily News reports.
They were demoted from detective to officer following the shocking allegation by an 18-year-old woman who said that, after she was taken into custody for possession of marijuana and prescription medication, the cops sexually assaulted her before dropping her off in Coney Island.

Martins and Hall claim the sex was consensual, police sources said.
