Alaafin of Oyo’s son, Tillaman, has finally opened up on why he left Aquila records, owned by Shina Peller.
According to the singer, his contract expired and he felt the need to leave other than renew the contract.
Speaking with Sunday Scoop, he said:
“My contract with Aquila Records expired and I felt the need to start my own record label. There are a lot of things I cannot do as an artiste under a record label, but I can do more if I own my company. My music journey has grown to a level that I want to have control over the materials I put out at all times.”
He continued:
“Change is something we cannot stop; we have to learn to grow. I didn’t have any problem with Aquila Records. I am even closer to Shina Peller now than when I was with the label. He is a wonderful individual and I still seek his advice anytime I need to do things in music or in my personal life. When his father, Professor Peller, was alive, he used to come to the palace to mesmerise us with magic. So, Shina Peller is like a big brother to me.”
