Popular Nigerian artiste and DMW boss, Davido bagged himself an award and which made him the first artiste from Nigeria to win such award.Â
On August 3rd, Davido scooped a SAMA (South African Music Award), which is the biggest music award in South Africa.
Furthermore, the SAMA Award was held virtually.
Under the Rest of Africa award category, Davido’s album “A Good Time” won the category. This made him the first musician from Nigeria to win such an award.
Before now, the album has been making waves home and abroad. a few days ago, the album celebrated being streamed over a billion times.
Davido released the album on 22nd of November, 2019 through Sony Music, RCA Records, and Davido Music Worldwide.
The album has 17 tracts and 10 was songs sang by Davido himself, while the remaining seven were collaborative
The album features guest appearances such as Summer Walker, Chris Brown, Naira Marley, Gunna, to mention a few.
Although many were shocked by the win, they showed happiness that the album deserves the win.
