A yet to be identified middle-aged man was found hanging from a tree dead in the early hours of Saturday.
He was found on Catholic Mission Road, opposite the Court of Appeal in Lagos Island.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, many people found around the scene suspected suicide.
Policemen who spoke with NAN said they could not give any comment as they were not allowed to comment on the issue until an investigation was carried out.
