At least 8 dead, several injured as gunman opens fire at the synagogue

A gunman has opened fire at a Jewish synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the US during prayer service.

At least 8 people have already been confirmed dead in what has been viewed as an anti-Semitic attack.

 

The attacker entered the Tree of Life Congregation where he began spraying bullets. According to cops, the intruder came with an AR-15 and said, “All Jews need to die.”

As at the time the cops arrived, the shooter had began firing at them. The gunman, who has been described as a white man with a beard,  has surrendered to police and is in custody.

The shooting occurred at the Tree of Life Congregation Synagogue in the Squirrel Hill area of Pittsburgh shortly before 10am.

Three people were killed on the ground level, and four others in the synagogue’s basement. At least one other person before feeling to the third floor where he had an exchange with the police.

Two cops were shot and their condition isn’t presently disclosed.
