Nigerian drug peddler charged with attempted murder in India

The Mumbai Police cracked a Nigerian drug peddling racket in the late hours of Wednesday.
One Nigerian national, identified as Kone Adama, 28, a temporary resident of Kharghar, was arrested while seven to eight fled .

The runaway culprits managed to flee from the railway tracks taking benefit of the passing trains. An RPF constable and a Mumbai police sub-inspector were injured in during the raid,Mumbai Mirror reported,

constable Salim Gani Shaikh suffered head injuries as one of the peddlers attached him on the head with a stick.

The police said they received several complaints from the residents about these drug dealers, who sat at isolated spots in the railway station like railway yards during the night.

“We have seized around 10 grams of cocaine valued at Rs 30,000 and 16 grams of mephedrone valued at Rs 16,000 from the spot. Adama has been booked under releavtn IPC Sections for attempt to murder, Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty and various sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic substance act, 1985,” said Dharmadhikari.
