A decade after starring on America’s Next Top Model, Jael Strauss is now fighting for her life.
The model took to Facebook last week to reveal she has been diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer, and she may only have months to live.
‘I was gonna write some long thing but some of you guys deserve to know,’ she began her social media post. ‘On October 2nd I was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer.’
It has aggressively spread throughout my body and is incurable, she continued. ‘With treatment it may prolong my life longer than the “few months” doctors said I could make it.’
‘I don’t want to die. I need another one of those miracles that I got back in 2013,’ Strauss, 34, concluded, referring to when she got sober five years ago.
Her friends Melissa Lebet, Cody Haynes and Sarah Covey have set up a Go Fund Me page, to help cover Strauss’ treatment costs.
Just over three days after it was created, fans and friends have donated $7,250, nearly half of their $15,000 goal.
