Oko Poly disowns robbery suspect

The Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, has disowned the robbery suspect arrested in Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Chimezie Udoka, who was accused of burglary and theft, had claimed to be a student of the department of Mass Communication of the institution.

According to The Nation, a statement by spokesman, Obini Onuchukwu, said Udoka’s records were not found in the department.

The statement reads:

“Our attention has been drawn to a video circulating on social media, where a certain Chimezie Udoka, a robbery suspect, claimed to be a Mass Communication student of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State.

“We wish to inform the public that his name was not found in our records hence the video should be discountenanced as one of those malicious attempts aimed at tarnishing the school’s image.”

Onuchukwu added that the public was free to contact the Head of Department/Dean, School of Information Technology, on any issue or information which needs clarification.
