Nigerian police brutalises artiste for questioning them

Nigerian artiste Ibim has taken to his IG page to share a video of him being brutalised by some policemen in Ikorodu.

According to Ibim, his offence was questioning them on why they were harassing his friend.

This happened in agbede ikorodu Lagos state where I was brutally harassed by some police men in owutu ikorodu branch off isawo road , One of police men traced my friend to his destination and asked him to open his phone on his way going to church i was about going to see my mom at the hospitable when I saw them dragging with him and I was like “oga wetin happen “ his cloth was locked and I ask him to leave him alone all of a sudden another korope came through and it was there boss in it , ( this same set of people don tear my cloth beat me for road because I refused to unlock my phone ) he came down and said what is my own he slapped me and asked me to enter the bus I refused to for about an hour I didn’t enter not until my dad said I should follow them after a lot of begging, they took me to the station took my cloth off handcuff me and he started beating me pelu opolopo slapping , the belt he used to beat me enh I don’t even know what kind of belt it was , but I was beating like a thief “ I swear I didn’t do anything, no crime at all o I swear down I have eye witnesses “ if you guys see my hand enh man I can’t eat I’m currently in treating this let’s stop #policebrutality @instablog9ja @tundeednut afterwards they collected just 8k as bribe , and they later called that they don’t want their DPO to be aware that we should come and collect the money AWO werey , make them chop the money Awon Elebi
