A Nigerian doctor has taken to social media to share the story of a 2 weeks old baby who was allowed to die due to the mother’s religious beliefs.
According to the doctor, the baby needed blood transfusion but the mother declined.

“Madam your baby needs to undergo an urgent surgery and he’ll need blood transfusion too. He’s anaemic.”
Mum moves over to baby’s bed
“Nwam, ngwanu, you will die na. God said we shouldn’t take blood.”
We begged. They refused. He was 2 wks old. I cried. Why?
