Mistura, a Lagos state civil servant is reportedly battling for her life at LASUTH after her housemaid allegedly attacked her maid in her home at Ejigbo.
Punchng reports that Mistura has been in a coma since Monday, March 5, 2018, after her maid attacked her with blended pepper and a wine bottle. The maid has been identified as Susan Samson.
Mistura is said to have been operated on but is yet to come out of the coma, she is presently still in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
Reports have it that the maid Samson was employed by Mistura on February 4, 2018, to assist her with domestic chores.
Samson, 18, stole Mistura’s money last Friday and Saturday and after the money was recovered in her bag, Mistura called the agent who brought her.
In a bid to escape from the house which Mistura already locked, Samson poured pepper on her while she laid on her bed.
Afterwards, Samson grabbed a champagne bottle and smashed it on the victim’s head repeatedly until she passed out. She was caught by residents as she tried to escape from the house.
The victim’s husband, Alhaji Sikiru, said: “My wife is in the intensive care unit of LASUTH. Her brain has collapsed and has been removed from the body and kept somewhere. Her kidney is already packing up. I hope she makes it out alive.”
A source revealed that the couple had a disagreement late last year over the issue of getting a maid before the husband eventually relented.
The state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, reacting to the case tagged it one of wickedness and ordered a thorough investigation and diligent prosecution of the case.
