IMSU graduate arrested over Zenith bank robbery

The Imo state police command has arrested the last member of the robbery gang that attacked a customer at Zenith Bank in Owerri. The attack led to the killing of two policemen.

The suspect Chinomso Gift Onwuegbuchulam aka Ogolo, was arrested at Close 7 Mgbuakara, Eleparanwan in Rivers State, where he has been hiding out.

According to the Commissioner of Police in Imo, Chris Ezike, Onwuegbuchulam is a graduate of public administration from the Imo State University.

He has since confessed to the crime revealing that out of the N2.8m his gang stole from their target, he received N400,000.

Onwuegbuchulam also confessed to having begun since 2012 and was part of operations that took place in Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Owerri between 2012 and 2017.

Recall that the suspect is part of the four-man robbery gang who attacked a customer at Zenith Bank, Owerri in February last year, killing two on-duty police officers.

Two out of the four gang members were arrested days after the incident, while one member of the gang was killed during the robbery.
