I mean, if this isn’t the height of stupidity as first portrayed by singer Skiibi, I don’t know what else is.

A gospel artiste decided to follow suit in the steps of Skiibi by faking his own death in other to garner more popularity for himself.

The 23-year-old gospel artist, Onyong Yubu, whose stage name is ‘Prince Yubu,’ is said to have faked his own death before taking to social media to announce to all his friends.

His message read “Let us pray for Prince Yubu, a gospel artiste, who passed away in hospital. He had severe malaria. He died 20 minutes ago.”
Local media did not believe this news, so they sent reporters to Yubu’s house to find out more and to everyone’s disbelief, Yubu was found alive.

Not only was he found alive, he admitted that he was very much aware of his death announcement on social media.

On why he pulled such move,  Yubu claimed it was not a joke and that he had been kidnapped by some people who were also behind the fake death message.

He said, “They tied me up with ropes and took away my cell phone, which they used to send out messages announcing I was dead.”

Patrick Akena Ogwal, operation manager at a local radio station, reacting to the news said;

“What many don’t know yet about Prince Yubu is that he is very cunning.

“He could have put that thing up to gauge people’s perception of him and his popularity,” Ogwal argued.
