Ryan Seacrest breaks silence after he’s cleared of sexual harassment allegations

Ryan Seacrest has opened up after the sexual harassment allegations against him were found to be false. The renowned media personality says that sexual harassment claims against him taught him not to take the presumption of innocence for granted.

In November, a wardrobe stylist who worked with Seacrest a decade ago on E! News accused him of inappropriate behavior.

The network launched an investigation, but ended it Thursday due to “insufficient evidence.”

“To have my workplace conduct questioned was gut-wrenching. I’ve always aimed to treat all of my colleagues with honesty, respect, kindness and compassion. Yet, I knew, regardless of the confidence I had that there was no merit to the allegations, my name would likely soon appear on the lists of those suspected of despicable words and deeds. The pressures of our overflowing newsfeeds would insist on it,” Seacrest wrote in a guest column for the Hollywood Reporter.

“I absolutely want to be part of the change, the progress, that is coming. I did not want to be a postscript of evidence of its cause.”

“We live with near constant change, disruption and public discourse. I realize the morals and values, the decency, we’ve perhaps taken for granted, individually and as citizens of the world, are in question,” he wrote. “Worse, at risk. I do not take these things for granted.”

E! dismissed the allegations after not finding evidence to back up the woman’s claims.

“The investigation, conducted by outside counsel, found insufficient evidence to support the claims against Seacrest and therefore could not be substantiated. E! is committed to providing a safe working environment where everyone is treated with respect and dignity,” the network said in a statement.
