Nwankwo had paid Chuka the money to buy property for him in Asaba, the state capital, but instead of buying it, Chuka connived to murder the businessman and keep the money to himself. The duo got into an argument after Chuka denied receiving a credit alert from his bank, prompting the victim, who stayed in Anambra State, to inform Chuka that he would travel down to meet him in Asaba with a deposit slip proving that he paid into Chuka’s bank account.
Unknown to Nwankwo,Chuka had planned to kill him upon his arrival by paying gang members 100,000 naira.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Muhammad Mustafa, told journalists that the two suspects were arrested after painstaking efforts by the police.
